What size do I need in Kingsland women’s jackets?
Kingsland bases the sizes of women’s jackets on body measurements. According to the chart, size S fits a bust measurement of 83 to 88 cm and a waist of 68 to 73 cm, M fits a bust of 89 to 94 cm and a waist of 74 to 79 cm, and L fits a bust of 95 to 100 cm and a waist of 80 to 85 cm. Measurements are taken directly on the body, with the bust measured at the fullest part.
If you are between two sizes, Kingsland recommends choosing the smaller one for a close fit and the larger one for a looser fit. If hip and waist measurements correspond to different sizes, base your choice on the hip measurement.
Do Kingsland unisex jackets fit differently from the women’s jackets?
Yes, there is a separate sizing chart for unisex styles, and for the same size label the measurements are larger. In that chart, size S corresponds to a bust measurement of 87 to 91 cm, M to 92 to 96 cm and L to 97 to 101 cm. By contrast, for women’s sizes M is 89 to 94 cm.
In the unisex cut we stock, among others, the Kingsland Classic Down Jacket, Classic Quilted Jacket and Classic Bomber Jacket. Before choosing, check whether a jacket is cut as a women’s style or as a unisex style.
Hybrid, down or synthetic: which Kingsland jacket for which weather?
The Classic Hybrid Jacket for women combines different technical materials. Quilted sections at the chest, back and upper arms keep you warm, while stretch panels on the sleeves provide freedom of movement. A two-way zip makes it easier to adjust the jacket in the saddle.
According to Kingsland, the Classic Down Jacket is designed for very cold days, with a down and feather fill, a water-repellent outer and a detachable hood. The Classic Insulated Jacket instead uses a soft synthetic fill called Zermoly and robust nylon that is intended to withstand even a horse bite.
How do I wash Kingsland jackets?
Kingsland recommends washing jackets inside out at a maximum of 30 °C on a gentle cycle and not using fabric softener. You should not iron waterproof or water-repellent pieces, because this damages the water-repellent finish. As a rule, the brand advises against washing after every wear.
Down jackets can be tumble-dried at a low temperature, ideally with tennis balls, so that the filling fluffs up again. All other Kingsland items are better air-dried, inside out in the sun, so that the colours do not fade.
