Frequently asked questions

Is it worth resoling riding boots?

For high-quality riding boots, resoling is often worthwhile, because it is usually significantly cheaper than buying new and you keep your broken-in boots. Bring the boots to our shop in Tangstedt. We will honestly assess the effort and the costs and only start work after you have given your approval.

How much does a repair cost with you?

The costs depend on the damage and the material, which is why we only quote them once we have seen the item. You bring your equipment to the shop, we give you an honest assessment of the effort involved, the costs and the chances of success. We only start work once you have agreed.

How do I properly dry wet leather boots?

The best way to dry wet leather boots is slowly at room temperature and never on or under the radiator, because otherwise the leather dries too quickly and can become brittle. Stuff the boots with newspaper and change it until they are completely dry. Afterwards, care for the smooth leather with leather grease so that it stays supple.

How do I care for my bridle and leatherwork so that it lasts a long time?

Wipe bridle and leatherwork after riding, especially after sweaty sessions, with lukewarm water and a well-wrung sponge. Saddle soap is suitable for heavier dirt. Once the leather is dry again, care for it with leather grease or sparingly with leather oil. Store everything in a dry and airy place, because moisture encourages mould.

Can I get spare parts such as buckles or loops?

Yes, we can source spare parts such as buckles, loops, straps and laces. Thanks to our contacts with the manufacturers we know which parts fit your product. It is best if you bring the affected item with you to the shop in Tangstedt so that we can compare size and design directly.
