How long does Agrobs AlpenGrün Mash need to soak?
Using warm water that is no longer boiling, AlpenGrün Mash swells in about 5–10 minutes and is then fed lukewarm. With cold water it takes 15–20 minutes. Agrobs specifies a ratio of mash to water between 1:3 and 1:7, for example 0.5 kg mash to 1.5 l water.
The recommendation is 80–100 g per 100 kg ideal body weight. Because it is free from cereals, bran and molasses, this mash is, according to the manufacturer, also intended for daily feeding, for example as a course of feeding during the coat change. Introduce it gradually.

Which Agrobs muesli is cereal free?
Cereal- and molasses-free products include AlpenGrün Müsli, AlpenGrün Seniormüsli, AlpenGrün Mash and Spitzenreiter Magenmüsli. The AlpenGrün range is based on warm air dried grasses and herbs, supplemented with vegetables, fruit and flowers, and is low in starch and sugar.
Spitzenreiter Magenmüsli provides more energy on a fat-fibre basis and is aimed at horses in work or building up condition that have a sensitive stomach. It is also free from alfalfa and soya. For AlpenGrün Müsli, 1 kg replaces about 1 kg of cereals according to Agrobs.
What is the difference between AlpenGrün Müsli and AlpenGrün Seniormüsli?
The difference is mainly in the fibre. In AlpenGrün Müsli the fibre structure is preserved and encourages chewing, which is why, according to Agrobs, it is not suitable for older horses and horses with dental problems. The Seniormüsli has short fibres and can be well utilised even when chewing ability is limited.
In addition, the Seniormüsli contains Myoalpin fibres with easily utilisable protein to maintain muscle. Both are cereal- and molasses-free, and the daily amount in each case is about 100–500 g per 100 kg ideal body weight. For seniors Agrobs recommends moistening or soaking the feed.
Do you have to soak Agrobs hay cubes?
Yes, Agrobs recommends always soaking cobs, using 1.5 to 3 litres of water per kilogram. This also applies to Pre Alpin Wiesencobs, which consist of more than 60 different grasses and herbs from the Bavarian Alpine foothills.
As a complete hay replacement Agrobs specifies about 1.5 kg per 100 kg ideal body weight per day, with 1 kg cobs replacing about 1 kg hay. The cobs are also suitable for upgrading hay or supplying fibre to horses that have lost teeth. Change the ration gradually.
