Eskadron Fur-Lined Headcollars

Faux Fur is Eskadron’s synthetic sheepskin that looks very similar in appearance to real sheepskin. According to the manufacturer, it is very soft, moulds to the horse, distributes pressure and therefore protects against pressure points and rubbing at the nose and poll.

Compared with real sheepskin Eskadron mentions two advantages: the material lasts longer and can be machine washed. If you prefer natural sheepskin, Eskadron also offers headcollars with padding made from real sheepskin, for example the Lambskin Pin Buckle.

With the Fauxfur Doublepin, yes: according to Eskadron, the padding on noseband, headpiece and cheekpieces can be detached with hook-and-loop fasteners and washed. For Faux Fur the manufacturer recommends machine washing in a laundry bag at a maximum of 30 °C on a gentle cycle with mild detergent, all fastenings closed and without using a tumble dryer.

For other models the fur is permanently attached, for example the Faux Leather Jewel Faux Fur has an outer material made from PVC with a leather look. In that case the care instructions on the headcollar label apply.

The difference lies mainly in appearance and collection. The Fauxfur Doublepin is part of the Core line: glossy outer surface, tear-resistant webbing on the inside, pin buckles on both sides for centring, adjustment at the chin and silver-coloured fittings.

The Faux Leather Jewel Faux Fur comes from the Heritage 25/26 collection. It has an outer material with a leather look, Faux Fur at nose and poll, gold-coloured fittings and small decorative stones on the noseband. We stock both models in Thoroughbred and Warmblood.

We stock the Fauxfur Doublepin from the Core line in black, dark brown, night blue and powder pink. There are also seasonal colours from the Heritage collection, for example Black Truffle for the Faux Fur Complete and Cardamom for the Faux Leather Jewel.

Eskadron coordinates the colours within a collection with saddle pads and other accessories. This means you can choose the fur-lined headcollar to match the rest of your horse’s outfit. You can see which colour is available in which size directly on the respective item.
