Eskadron Lead Ropes

For tying up, a panic snap is the safer choice because, unlike a snap hook, it can still be opened easily even under heavy tension. If a horse takes fright and pulls back, you can release it quickly in an emergency.

Eskadron therefore offers its lead ropes in both versions. In the product names, PH stands for panic snap and KH for snap hook. The fittings are nickel-plated, brass-plated or black depending on the model.

The Regular is the classic lead rope for tying up, made from braided, tear-resistant polypropylene yarn and around 2 m long. The Duralastic is bulkier and elastic because the polypropylene is intricately interwoven. It is also about 2 m long.

Both versions have an Eskadron name plate where you can write your horse’s name. Colours and fittings follow the respective Eskadron collection, for example Core with a nickel-plated panic snap or Dynamic with black metal fittings.

The chain lead is a lead rope with a 70 cm long, nickel-plated chain section at the end, with snap hook and hand loop. The remaining part is made of tear-resistant polypropylene yarn.

A chain lead is intended for leading, not for tying up. As with any snap hook, the fastener is difficult to open under heavy tension, which is why a rope with a panic snap is the safer choice for tying up. If you do not yet have experience with a chain lead, it is best to have someone show you how to fit it correctly.
