Yes, on the Kavalpren long girth with elastic the neoprene padding is removable and, according to Kavalkade, washable at 30 degrees. The manufacturer therefore describes it as a girth for daily use, especially if you want to wash your tack frequently.

Kavalpren is a neoprene-like material. The thick, soft padding is intended to protect against pressure and chafing, and a nylon insert inside keeps the girth in shape. In addition there are flat roller buckles made of stainless steel and a D-ring in the middle. Kavalkade generally states that textile girths such as neoprene and Klimatex are machine washable.

According to Kavalkade, the Softleder Comfort is intended for horses that are sensitive to pressure in the girth area. Its wide chest plate distributes the pressure over a larger surface and the soft leather moulds itself to the horse and every movement.

It is constructed from a firm nylon core, a foam layer and an outer side made of leather. It has an anatomical cut, elastic on both sides and a snap hook in the middle. Kavalkade uses vegetable-tanned leather for its girths. We stock the Softleder Comfort as a long girth in brown.

The Moon is intended for horses that are very narrow in front, have a short back and a wide ribcage. With this conformation the saddle often slips forwards. According to Kavalkade, the crescent-shaped cut gives the saddle enough hold and at the same time more freedom at the elbow.

The Klimatex version is made from a hard-wearing mixed fabric that wicks sweat well, and on the inside a breathable spacer fabric ensures even pressure distribution. In its guide Kavalkade recommends choosing the girth according to the horse’s conformation, not according to how many technical innovations it has.
