Can I see Pavo Hard Feed in person in Tangstedt near Hamburg?
Yes, according to our current stock, all 7 items are available in our shop at Dorfring 2 in Tangstedt. There you can compare models and get advice, or you can order online with shipping or pick-up in store.
How do I prepare Pavo SlobberMash?
Mix one part Pavo SlobberMash with one part hot water, stir well and leave the mash to cool until it is hand-warm. It is then ready to feed straight away. As a guideline Pavo recommends about 0.2 kg per 100 kg bodyweight per day, adjusted to turnout and workload.
According to the manufacturer, SlobberMash is a complete hard feed with a high linseed content and added vitamin C. If a fine layer remains at the bottom after soaking this is, according to Pavo, finely ground plant material from linseed and minerals, not sand.

Does Pavo SpeediBeet need to be soaked?
Yes, SpeediBeet must only be fed soaked. Pavo recommends one part SpeediBeet to three parts water, for about 10 minutes in lukewarm water or 20 minutes in cold water. Store the opened bag so that horses cannot get to the dry shreds.
SpeediBeet is desugared beet pulp flakes that are free from molasses and cereals and contain no added vitamins and minerals. Pavo classifies it as forage, not as a complete hard feed. If only SpeediBeet is fed alongside forage, the manufacturer recommends a mineral feed.

What is the difference between Pavo SpeediBeet and Pavo FibreBeet?
FibreBeet is the higher-protein variant. Half of it is SpeediBeet beet pulp, and it also contains about 30% alfalfa and 18% soya hulls. According to Pavo it is intended for horses that need to build up condition and muscle or gain weight healthily.
Both products are cereal-free, low in sugar and starch and must be soaked. FibreBeet takes a little longer, namely 15 minutes in warm water or 45 minutes in cold water. Because of a small amount of fenugreek, horses usually accept FibreBeet straight away, whereas they often need to get used to SpeediBeet first.

Is the Pavo Care4Life herb muesli cereal-free?
Yes, Pavo Care4Life is free from cereals, oats and molasses and has a very low sugar and starch content. This high-fibre muesli contains 11 herbs making up 3.7%, including echinacea and fennel, as well as vitamins and minerals, so according to the manufacturer no additional hard feed is necessary.
Pavo particularly recommends it for horses and ponies that are good doers, for horses prone to being overweight and for horses with metabolic disorders. If your horse has an illness, please agree the feeding with your vet.
