Samshield Women's Jackets

Samshield describes its quilted jackets as water-repellent, not waterproof. According to the manufacturer, Courchevel, Sierra and Billie have a durable water-repellent finish (DWR). Light rain will therefore bead off, but for prolonged rain a rain jacket is the better choice.

Practical for everyday use at the yard: according to Samshield, all three models are machine-washable. Please follow the care label of the respective jacket.

In Courchevel, Sierra and Billie Samshield uses a Dupont Sorona fill, a plant-based fibre. According to the manufacturer, the outer fabric of Courchevel and Sierra is made from 100% recycled polyester, and from 95% recycled polyester in the Billie.

Samshield describes the jackets as lightweight, warm and soft, and suitable for year-round use. For the Courchevel the manufacturer specifies a winter version with 360 g fill. Typical for the brand is the crest with Swarovski crystals on the chest.

The most important difference is the length. Sierra is a long quilted parka that, according to Samshield, reaches down to the thighs and is intended for waiting times at competitions. It has a detachable hood and concealed double zips at the sides.

The Courchevel is a shorter, fitted quilted jacket with a diagonal herringbone quilting pattern and a detachable hood. The bomber-style Billie has a geometrically quilted front.
