Schockemöhle Sports Reins

Durasoft reins have a tear-resistant nylon core that runs through the entire rein right into the bit loop. Schockemöhle Sports compares this core weave to the material of a seat belt, with a hard-wearing yet very soft leather used on the outside.

With the Durasoft Grip, integrated leather stops together with a rubberised underside give you a good grip in the hand, plus martingale stoppers are included. The rein is 16 mm wide. We stock the Dura Soft Grip rein in the rolled version, which the manufacturer also describes as having a nylon core, stops and a rubberised underside.

Schockemöhle Sports offers rolled webbing, rubber, curb and Durasoft reins, with the width differing depending on the model. The rolled webbing rein is made from 19 mm webbing with simple leather stops, the rolled rubber rein consists of 17 mm rubber, both have hook studs and martingale stoppers.

The rolled curb rein is significantly narrower at 13 mm and also has hook studs. The Durasoft Rolled Grip, at 16 mm, lies in between. In our range you will find among other things the leather rein, the webbing rein, the curb rein and the Dura Soft Grip rein in rolled versions.

Yes, Schockemöhle Sports also offers several reins in dark brown with silver fittings, for example the Durasoft Grip, the Durasoft Rolled Grip and the Durasoft Gummi. The narrow leather curb rein with hook studs is also available in dark brown from the manufacturer.

In our range we currently stock Schockemöhle reins in black and black-silver. If you are looking for a brown model, feel free to speak to us in our shop in Tangstedt or by phone.

Schockemöhle Sports recommends cleaning bridles and reins with a spray soap, because it dries out the leather less than traditional saddle soap. You should then care for the reins with a leather lotion that replenishes oils without being too greasy.

According to the manufacturer, reins should only be treated with leather grease from time to time. Schockemöhle Sports advises against leather oil for its products, because it can soak heavily stressed leather and therefore cause it to stretch unintentionally.
