Schockemöhle Sports is an equestrian brand from Mühlen in the Oldenburg Münsterland region that has existed since 2005. It was founded by Paul Schockemöhle, former showjumper and horse breeder. According to the company, the products are developed in cooperation with dressage, show jumping and eventing riders. The range extends from bridles and reins to saddle pads and riding wear.
At Ahrens Reitsport you will find bridles, reins and saddle pads from Schockemöhle Sports as well as women’s riding wear: riding breeches and riding tights, shirts, show shirts and show jackets. Matching accessories complete the range.
Who is behind Schockemöhle Sports?
The brand is backed by Paul Schockemöhle, who founded Schockemöhle Sports in Mühlen in 2005. The family has been connected with equestrian sport there for generations.
Paul Schockemöhle was himself a successful showjumper and is still active in equestrian sport as a breeder and with auctions. The company Schockemöhle Sports GmbH is based in Mühlen. According to the company, specialist retailers on five continents sell their products.
How do the Schockemöhle bridle lines differ?
Schockemöhle divides its bridles into several lines, including Classic, Anatomic, Select, NEO and Equitus. The manufacturer describes the Equitus line as bridles with particularly high comfort, and it also includes bitless versions.
The sizes at Schockemöhle are, for example, P2, VB (Thoroughbred), WB (Warmblood) and WB XL. According to the manufacturer, Equitus bridles are intended for riding and not for lunging. It is best to try a bridle directly on your horse.
What are Durasoft reins?
Durasoft reins have a tear-resistant nylon core that is encased in supple leather. This construction is intended to combine the durability of a synthetic core with the feel of leather in the hand.

How do I care for Schockemöhle leather bridles and saddle pads?
According to Schockemöhle, leather bridles and reins are best cleaned with spray-on saddle soap and then treated with a leather lotion. You should not bend or stretch browbands with crystals beyond their shape.
Wash saddle pads and textiles on the gentlest programme suitable for the level of soiling and always follow the care label. A laundry bag protects rhinestone decorations from friction, or you can wash such items by hand instead.
