How do I prepare St. Hippolyt Glyx-Mash?
Mix Glyx-Mash with 1.5 to 2 times the amount of warm to hot water and leave it to soak for about 15 minutes. Cold water also works, but the soaking time then increases to around 30 minutes. St. Hippolyt recommends about 70–250 g per 100 kg body weight.
As a rule, the mash is fed three to four times a week, or daily if required. Unlike traditional mash, Glyx-Mash does not contain conventional cereal starch. The base includes, among other things, chopped grass, beet pulp and cracked linseed.

Which St. Hippolyt muesli is cereal-free?
Cereal-free options include, for example, Glyx-Wiese Müsli and Struktur-E Getreidefrei. Glyx-Wiese Müsli also avoids molasses and is based on grasses and herbs from the Lake Constance region, blossoms and oilseeds. According to the manufacturer it is also suitable for overweight horses and horses with metabolic problems.
Struktur-E Getreidefrei is an energy-rich concentrate made from sprouts, oil fruits and legume flakes for horses with higher energy requirements that react sensitively to cereals. The classic Struktur-E, on the other hand, contains components of maize and barley.

How much St. Hippolyt hard feed do I feed per day?
The daily amount depends on the product and is given per 100 kg body weight. For Glyx-Wiese Müsli St. Hippolyt states about 100–200 g, for Struktur-E and Struktur-E Getreidefrei about 150–300 g and for the senior feed Beste Jahre about 300–600 g.
From these amounts upwards, no additional mineral feed is needed for Struktur-E and Beste Jahre according to the manufacturer, while for Glyx-Wiese Müsli St. Hippolyt recommends a mineral supplement. Divide larger quantities into several meals. The basis is always an adequate supply of forage.
Which St. Hippolyt feed is suitable for older horses?
For seniors St. Hippolyt has developed the Vitalmüsli Beste Jahre. It is reduced in starch and sugar and adapted to the changed nutrient requirements of older horses. According to the manufacturer it is also suitable for sensitive horses and for putting weight on thin horses of any age.
In the case of dental problems, bolting feed or oesophageal problems, St. Hippolyt advises moistening muesli with water or switching to soaked, pelleted feed. For seniors you should also ensure a secure supply of forage.
