Waldhausen Grooming Brushes

The dandy brush is for heavy dirt, the body brush for thorough grooming, and the face brush for the head. This is how Waldhausen describes the brushes in the Exclusive Line: the dandy brush has firm fibres that also remove stable stains and grass stains on the body and legs.

The body brush, with its mixture of bristles, brings dirt out from deep in the coat and gives the coat shine. The face brush is made of soft animal hair and is therefore gentle on the horse’s sensitive head. On the mane brush in the Exclusive Line, rounded pin heads protect the skin, mane and tail.

Both are especially useful during the coat change. Waldhausen describes the shedding comb with gel handle as removing undercoat and loose hair without damaging the top coat. We offer it in several sizes up to XL.

The spring curry comb works with flexible stainless steel rings, with six rings on the 6-ring model. According to Waldhausen it is suitable for the coat change and for brushing out matted areas. For the finishing touch Waldhausen recommends the gloss brush made of soft animal hair, which is intended to leave no speck of dust in the coat.

The gel handle is intended to allow fatigue-free work and, according to Waldhausen, sits particularly well in the hand. It adapts to the palm, which is pleasant for long grooming sessions or several horses.

Waldhausen offers a whole range with this handle, including a double brush, mane and tail brush, shedding comb, hoof pick and sweat scraper. According to the manufacturer, the double brush removes dirt and loose hair and, with regular use, promotes blood circulation. Waldhausen is an equestrian company from Cologne with a long tradition. In 2016 the company celebrated what it says was its 180th anniversary. Since 2000 it has been based at a company headquarters in Cologne-Ossendorf.
