Can I see Cavallo Riding Boots in person in Tangstedt near Hamburg?
Yes, according to our current stock, all 10 items are available in our shop at Dorfring 2 in Tangstedt. There you can compare models and get advice, or you can order online with shipping or pick-up in store.
What do the size details on Cavallo riding boots mean?
Cavallo riding boots have two size details: the shoe size, which always covers half a size (for example 7–7½), and the boot-leg size consisting of two numbers such as 52/38. The first number is the height of the boot leg, the second is the calf width, both in centimetres.
That is why the same boot model comes in many combinations, for example the Cavallo Cavallinus Slim with boot-leg heights from 47 to 55. According to Cavallo, the correct height is particularly important, because a boot leg that is too long will crease and can become misshapen or rub against the leather.

How do I care for Cavallo leather riding boots?
Remove coarse dirt such as mud with hand-warm water and a soft cloth, then dry off with a cotton cloth. You should not use stiff brushes. According to Cavallo, you should wipe off horse sweat and manure immediately with a damp cloth, because they draw the natural oils out of the leather, which becomes brittle over time.
Afterwards, apply a suitable care product thinly and evenly and polish with a wool cloth or nylon stocking. Patent leather does not need its own care products, and grip leather should be left completely without care products so that the grip is maintained.

How do I dry and store Cavallo riding boots correctly?
According to Cavallo, wet leather boots need at least 24 hours to dry, depending on how soaked they are, and should be dried in a dry, airy place and not next to a radiator or stove. Drying too quickly at a high temperature makes the leather brittle.
When you are not wearing the boots, boot trees (not made of metal) help them keep their shape, or alternatively you can fill them with newspaper, which absorbs the moisture. According to Cavallo, if you ride every day it is best to alternate between two pairs of boots. Always fully open the zips when putting the boots on.

Can I configure Cavallo riding boots individually?
Yes, Cavallo offers individually configurable riding boots that, according to the manufacturer, are sold exclusively through specialist retailers. If you are looking for a special size or made-to-measure boots, you can also get personal advice from Cavallo on models and fit.
At Ahrens Reitsport, made-to-measure boots and half chaps are part of our advisory services. We take your measurements in our shop in Tangstedt and place the order with the manufacturer. We will discuss with you during the consultation which brands and models are suitable.
