Cavallo at Ahrens Reitsport
Cavallo began in 1978 as a production site for riding boots in Bad Oeynhausen. After a change of ownership in June 2018 the company is now based in Löhne (East Westphalia). Over time, paddock boots, half chaps, riding breeches, a sportswear collection and, since 2019, colour-coordinated equipment for your horse have been added to the leather boots.
At Ahrens Reitsport you will find leather riding boots, women’s riding breeches, shirts, show shirts and other tops, menswear, hats and socks from Cavallo. For your horse there are saddle pads, exercise sheets and overreach boots.
Where does the Cavallo brand come from?
Cavallo is a German equestrian brand from East Westphalia. It was founded in 1978 as a production site for riding boots in Bad Oeynhausen. In June 2018 the current management took over the company and moved its headquarters to Löhne.
In the early 2000s the first riding wear was added. Today a new sportswear collection comes out twice a year, complemented since 2019 by Horsefashion for the horse.
Are there Cavallo riding boots for slim calves?
Yes, Cavallo offers its own slim versions of the Insignis, Primus and Linus boot models with an especially narrow fit. This is how the manufacturer responds to riders for whom standard boot legs are too wide.
How well a leather riding boot fits depends on calf circumference, boot height and foot length. In our shop in Tangstedt you can try on different widths. For very individual measurements we also offer made to measure boots.
How do I care properly for Cavallo leather riding boots?
Remove dirt, horse sweat and muck with a damp cloth as soon as possible after riding, because they attack the leather. Wet boots need at least 24 hours to dry in an airy place, not on the radiator.
Then apply a thin layer of shoe cream in a matching colour and polish with a woollen cloth. Leave grip leather panels free of care products, otherwise they lose their grip. Patent leather does not need extra care. Keep zips clean with a small brush.
Which riding breeches does Cavallo offer?
Cavallo offers both permanent all-year-round models and seasonal riding breeches. According to the manufacturer, the grip riding breeches Caja and Celine and the riding tights Lin Grip are among the classic styles that are permanently available.
Twice a year there are also riding breeches in the colours and cuts of the current sportswear collection. For competitions there are dedicated show breeches and matching show shirts. Our focus is on women’s riding breeches.
