Mountain Horse at Ahrens Reitsport
Mountain Horse is a Swedish equestrian brand based in Vallda. It was founded in 1988 by Lars Sjöswärd. Since then the company has been developing riding wear and riding footwear for women, men and young riders, from riding boots and paddock boots to jackets and riding breeches. Sustainability and long-lasting products are an integral part of the brand philosophy.
At Ahrens Reitsport you will find Mountain Horse leather riding boots, winter riding boots and paddock boots, outdoor and leisure shoes, women’s riding breeches, technical and long-sleeved shirts, hats and matching accessories.
Where does the Mountain Horse brand come from?
Mountain Horse comes from Sweden. The brand was founded in 1988 by Lars Sjöswärd and is still based in Vallda.
The range includes riding wear and riding footwear for women, men and young riders. According to its own information, the company makes a point of choosing the most environmentally friendly materials possible and reducing the use of water, energy and chemicals. All products comply with the European chemicals regulation REACH.
How do I find the right size in Mountain Horse riding boots?
For riding boots you should know not only your shoe size but also your calf circumference and leg height. Mountain Horse provides size charts and a video guide that shows you how to measure your leg correctly.
An even safer option is to try boots on in our shop in Tangstedt, ideally wearing riding breeches and riding socks. If no standard model fits, we can also advise you on made-to-measure boots. We take your measurements and place the order with the manufacturer.
Are there vegan riding boots from Mountain Horse?
Yes, with the Veganza collection Mountain Horse offers riding boots and shoes without any animal materials. This includes tall boots as well as paddock boots.

How do I care for riding clothing from Mountain Horse?
Wash Mountain Horse technical clothing only as often as necessary and always according to the care label. The manufacturer points out that washing too frequently puts a lot of strain on the material and shortens its lifespan.
You will also find the washing instructions for each model on the manufacturer’s website. If a garment no longer fits, Mountain Horse recommends passing it on or selling it and recycling it at the end of its life instead of throwing it away.
