Equiline Saddle Pads

According to the manufacturer, classic Equiline saddle pads such as the Octagon have a fabric made from 65% polyester and 35% cotton, inside and out. They are padded with 900 g of breathable wadding, which Equiline describes as antibacterial and hypoallergenic.

For ventilation and shock absorption, Equiline refers to its ACS 2 system. The Erbe Tech on the other hand has a technical stretch fabric, undyed natural cotton on the inside and UV protection with UPF 50+.

The Octagon is the brand’s classic: Equiline states that it has been offering it since 1989 and describes it as an iconic saddle pad. In the same year, the Marchetto brothers founded the company in a small workshop in Veneto in northern Italy.

The Octagon is typically characterised by the octagon pattern, along with 900 g of breathable padding. It is available in several colours and as a variant with crystals, for example the Rio. For some models Equiline also offers a matching fly veil.

Yes, crystals are a recurring detail at Equiline. The Rio is an Octagon saddle pad with crystal stones, the Erbe Tech features an Equiline logo made of crystals, and the limited Tech Alveolar has an outer cord made from black crystal stones.

Equiline itself presents personally designed saddle pads in limited editions. With the Tech Alveolar, for example, the base colour, binding, an outer cord of crystal stones, a narrow inner cord and the embroidered Equiline logo are coordinated with each other.
