Hans Melzer offers curved browbands made from quality leather with very different crystal rhinestones. The Las Vegas has large white stones, the Miami azure blue ones, the Bonn large brown ones, the Berlin small honey-coloured ones and the Stockholm very large champagne-coloured stones on a narrow strap.

The Wiesbaden with silver stones and the Kreuth with a silver-coloured clincher are more understated. With a new browband you can change your bridle or double bridle to suit your taste without replacing the whole bridle.

What sizes do Hans Melzer browbands come in?

According to Hans Melzer, all browbands are available in sizes Pony, Cob, Full and XFull. In our shop these correspond to the sizes Pony, Thoroughbred, Warmblood and Warmblood Extra (German abbreviations P, VB, WB and WB extra), and not every model is in stock in every size.

The safest way is to compare with your horse’s existing, well fitting browband. You are welcome to bring it or the bridle into our shop and we will find the right length together.

Can I buy cheekpieces or flash straps individually from Hans Melzer?

Yes, Hans Melzer offers many parts of the bridle individually, for example cheekpieces as a pair, flash straps, throatlatches, headpieces and padding for the Swedish noseband. Cheekpieces are also available with hook studs as a fastening.

We stock, among other things, cheekpieces in black and brown with silver or brass-coloured fittings, flash straps, throatlatches and nosebands in flash, drop, Swedish and grackle designs. Make sure that the colour of the fittings and the size match your bridle.

A specially shaped and extra padded headpiece is, according to Hans Melzer, a hallmark of the brand, intended for the horse’s comfort. For the Luhmühlen bridle the manufacturer highlights a headpiece with a new fit that is intended to be particularly soft and gentle on the poll.

As individual parts there are headpieces in Premium and anatomical versions, and we stock the anatomical headpiece in black. With a sensitive horse it is worthwhile checking the fit with experts, and in our shop Julia Lühr will advise you on bridle and bit fitting.
