Kentucky Horsewear Stable Rugs & Liners

Kentucky gives rug sizes in centimetres and assigns a second measurement to each size in its table, also in feet and inches. In the table, size 145 corresponds to 198 cm or 6'6, size 155 to 206 cm or 6'9 and size 160 to 213 cm or 7'0. This is where details such as 155-6,9 in our shop come from.

The table ranges from size 70 to 165. Measure your horse and compare the values with the table. If you are unsure, we will be happy to help you in our shop.

The gram number describes the fill. The stable rug 0 g has none, but its artificial rabbit fur lining forms small air pockets that retain warmth. Kentucky recommends it for cool summer nights, the transitional season or as a liner in winter. The Comfort has 100 g, an anatomical cut with comfort buckle and vegan sheepskin at the withers.

Velvet and the classic show rug have 160 g fibrefill. The Velvet has a velvet outer fabric with box quilting, while the show rug has 600D polyester with diamond quilting and also serves as a stable and travel rug.

Kentucky lines its stable rugs with artificial rabbit fur. According to the manufacturer, this lining ensures that the rug slips back into place after rolling or lying down. At the same time it helps to prevent rubbing and leaves the coat shiny.

There are also design details for the fit: anatomical cuts, artificial sheepskin on the collar or at the withers to reduce pressure on shoulder and withers, as well as rustproof stainless steel buckles. On the show rug the front closures fasten in a Z-shape, which distributes the pressure more evenly.

Kentucky stable rugs can be washed in the washing machine at 30 °C. You should not tumble-dry them, because this is how the quality of the materials is best preserved according to the manufacturer. For the stable rug 0 g Kentucky recommends drying it outside on a sunny day.

In everyday use the robust outer fabric helps, because shavings can simply be brushed off. The elastic cord has a plastic cover and can be cleaned with a damp cloth. According to Kentucky, the Velvet also retains its softness after washing.
