Question 3

Which Leovet shine spray suits which coat colour?

Julia Lühr · Accepted Answer

For light-coloured horses the Power Striegel Chamomile is intended, for dark horses the Power Striegel Walnut and for greys the Schimmelstriegel. According to Leovet, Roman chamomile is supposed to naturally lighten light coats, manes and tails and give golden highlights. The walnut extract in turn supports brown tones and provides natural shine. Both Power Striegel products contain UV filters to prevent fading.

You spray the Schimmelstriegel directly onto stains from urine, manure or grass and then wipe off the dirt. Proteins from moringa are intended to prevent new discolouration from settling quickly. We stock all three sprays in 550 ml bottles.

Question 4

What is the difference between Leovet 5-Sterne Striegel, Silkcare Striegel and Mähnenstriegel?

Julia Lühr · Accepted Answer

All three are shine and detangling sprays for coat, mane and tail, but they rely on different active ingredients. The 5-Sterne Striegel contains arginine, panthenol and Pentavitin from wheat, which are intended to provide moisture to skin and hair and to reduce itching. Leovet lists shine, easy combing of mane and tail and protection against dust lasting for days.

The Silkcare Striegel works with silk amino acids and makes the coat dirt-repellent, so that manure and urine stains can still be brushed out even after several days. The Mähnenstriegel uses cedarwood oil for brilliance and volume and also protects against dust and dirt for several days.

Question 5

Which Leovet mane spray helps with detangling and plaiting?

Julia Lühr · Accepted Answer

5-Sterne Magic Style is suitable for quick detangling and 5-Sterne Plaiting Grip for plaiting. Magic Style is a mane and tail spray with silicic acid, a care vitamin and a UV filter. According to Leovet, the mane can be combed through in seconds and remains loose and full for several days.

Plaiting Grip, on the other hand, is a silicone-free gel. It detangles the mane, makes the hair easy to grip and makes it easier to separate the strands so that the plaits last a long time. We stock both Magic Style and Plaiting Grip in 200 ml. For daily care of mane and tail, the Mähnenstriegel and the Power Striegel products are also suitable.

Question 6

Which Leovet fly spray is right for my horse?

Julia Lühr · Accepted Answer

Leovet differentiates its insect repellents by active ingredient and form of application. Power Phaser relies on plant-based repellents such as cade oil, citriodora oil and geranium oil and, according to the manufacturer, is supposed to work against insects and horseflies for at least 7 hours. For sensitive areas the range is available as a gel with a sponge (Power Phaser Durativ) and as a roll-on for ears and face.

The DEET Phaser contains the active ingredient DEET and additionally a UV protection for back, croup and dock. Tam Tam Vet is alcohol-free and uses geranium and citriodora oil. All of them are biocidal products, so read the label and product information before use.
