Samshield Riding Helmets

Measure your head circumference with a soft tape measure at the widest point above your eyebrows and ears, horizontally and without pulling it tight. For Samshield 2.0 and Miss Shield 2.0 this results in a size from 52 to 61, in some cases with a letter for the helmet shell S, M or L.

A head circumference of 55.5 to 55.9 cm corresponds, for example, to size 55M, 57.5 to 57.9 cm to size 57L. Sizes 52 to 54 are in shell S, 59 to 61 in shell L. We stock the helmets in many of these sizes, for example 55M, 57L or 58M.

Yes, the memory foam inner padding in Samshield helmets can be removed and washed. Depending on the model there are two liners: the Shadow Liner for more stability and the Premium Liner for better air circulation.

On the Miss Shield 2.0 Samshield uses a padding insert available in three sizes, which allows you to fine-tune the fit. We also sell the Liner Premium V2 and the liner for the Shadowmatt separately. According to the manufacturer, a 6-point ventilation system also ensures good air supply.

With the Restart Service Samshield replaces the protective inner shell after a fall, while the outer shell is retained. The service is available up to five years after purchase. The helmet should be checked after every fall, because the inner shell does not return to its original shape after an impact.

According to Samshield, all models are certified to international standards, namely EN, ASTM, SEI and PAS015. The helmets are also tested at the French laboratory CRITT with impact, crush and penetration tests.

The distinguishing feature of the Miss Shield is the long peak, which Samshield describes as the trademark of this model. The Miss Shield 2.0 has an inner shell made of polystyrene in several densities, an outer shell made of polycarbonate and a semi-rigid chinstrap.

The surfaces are available in matt, glossy or premium versions with Alcantara, and some models have Swarovski crystals. We stock, among others, Miss Shield Glossy V2, Shadowmatt V2, Shadowglossy and premium models in black, Black Chrome and black-silver.
