Waldhausen Bridles

Both ranges are the premium leather collections from Waldhausen. According to the manufacturer, only fine European leather is used for the S-Line, and fine leather processed in experienced workshops is used for the X-Line.

The difference becomes clear when you look at individual models. The S-Line Grace has a rolled Swedish flash noseband and stainless steel fittings, and is supplied without reins. The X-Line Goldheart has brass fittings and 19 mm wide webbing reins.

One example of an anatomically shaped Waldhausen bridle is the X-Line Goldheart. It has an anatomically shaped headpiece and an anatomically cut noseband, both of which are especially softly padded.

The S-Line Grace has a separate soft pad at the poll. In addition, there are a padded noseband and headpiece plus a curved browband with crystals. We are happy to help you choose, including as part of our bit fitting.

The Star bridle works like a Scawbrig over the lower jaw, that is, with no bit in the mouth at all. Noseband and headpiece are softly padded, and the reins are included.

Waldhausen recommends it for well-schooled horses as a change from a snaffle bridle. The Star collection is the manufacturer’s budget-friendly range made from robust leather. If your horse shows problems with the bit, please have a vet check the cause first.

Depending on the model, Waldhausen offers its bridles in Pony (PON), Thoroughbred (VB), Warmblood (WB) and in some cases Extra-Warmblood (XWB). The bitless Star bridle is available in all four sizes, the X-Line Goldheart in PON, VB and WB.

The S-Line Grace is available in VB and WB. When buying, also check whether reins are included: the Grace comes without reins, but Waldhausen offers matching reins separately.
