ZEDAN is a brand for insect protection and horse care from MM Cosmetic GmbH in Anhausen in the Westerwald. The brand was registered in 1988. ZEDAN SP was at that time a natural insect repellent that was not originally intended for horses at all, until a vet used it in the yard. The family also includes BREMSENBREMSE. Almost all care products are certified according to the NCS natural cosmetics standard, and the ingredients are openly declared.

What is the difference between ZEDAN SP and BREMSENBREMSE?
ZEDAN SP is the all-rounder for normal insect pressure, while BREMSENBREMSE is intended for high insect pressure, for example where there are many horseflies. ZEDAN SP works with geraniol and an active ingredient from Eucalyptus citriodora and is alcohol-free.
BREMSENBREMSE is available with different active ingredient combinations. The ultrafresh version combines IR3535 with eucalyptus oil and has a fresh lemon scent. According to the manufacturer it is alcohol-free and doping-free.
How much ZEDAN SP do I need for my horse?
For a pony the manufacturer allows around 40 ml, for a large horse up to 90 ml per application. Do not apply the spray too sparingly, distribute it evenly over coat and skin and repeat the application as required.
According to the manufacturer, ZEDAN SP complies with ADMR and can therefore also be used in competitions. Store the bottle in a cool, frost-free place. Always read the label and product information before use.
Is ZEDAN also suitable for horses with sweet itch?
For horses with sweet itch ZEDAN offers its own products for the care of stressed skin, such as the Ekzemer Öl-Komplex. For high insect pressure the manufacturer also recommends ZEDAN SP Extra Stark.
