Effol at Ahrens Reitsport
Effol is an equine care brand of Schweizer-Effax GmbH, based in Nordwalde in the Münsterland region. The company was founded in 1906 in Mannheim, and the first Effol product was a hoof ointment for working horses. Today the range extends from coat, skin and hoof care through insect protection to treats. Effol has been the official supplier of the DOKR since 2011.

Where does Effol come from?
Effol is a German brand and is part of Schweizer-Effax GmbH in Nordwalde. The company was founded on 18 January 1906 in Mannheim. In 1909 it was given the name Chemische Fabrik Effax, and it later moved to Bensheim.
It has borne the name Schweizer since 1936, and has belonged to the Eimermacher Group since 1997. Effol products have been manufactured according to the Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standard since 1997. Effol products are only available from equestrian retailers.
How do I apply Effol Hoof Oil correctly?
Apply Effol Hoof Oil with the brush from the coronet band downwards to the clean, dry hoof. The brush tin makes economical and clean application easier.
The oil contains lanolin, laurel oil and thymol, is quickly absorbed and is intended to support the elasticity of the hoof horn. Hoof care products are no substitute for regular trimming by a farrier or hoof care professional. In the event of cracks, thrush or lameness, please consult specialists or your vet.
What does Effol Bremsen-Blocker + protect against?
Effol Bremsen-Blocker + is a repellent spray against horseflies, flies, mosquitoes, black flies, ticks and deer keds. Its active ingredient is icaridin. The formula was developed together with the Swiss Tropical Institute and has been dermatologically tested.
It is a biocide: before use, read the label and product information, do not spray towards the eyes and use the spray outdoors or in well ventilated areas.
