Equiline Women's Breeches

Yes, Equiline offers both options. Full Grip corresponds to full seat, Knee Grip to knee patch, which according to the manufacturer gives secure hold at the knee area while maintaining freedom of movement. An example of Knee Grip is the Cornek model.

From Equiline we currently have riding breeches with full seat, including the X-Grip Cedar and the high-waisted Crystalef, plus a pair of high-waisted riding tights. Depending on the model, colours include black, white, grey, blue and mud.

Equiline states that it tests the grip of its full-grip breeches using the Martindale abrasion test. For the current Cedar and Crystalef models the manufacturer specifies that the grip withstands more than 20,000 rubbing cycles, which is the figure Equiline describes as standard in the industry.

To make sure the silicone grip lasts, follow the care label sewn into your breeches when washing. The instructions differ depending on the material, because the Cedar is predominantly cotton, while the Crystalef is made from polyamide and elastane.

The Cedar is the cotton version. For the current model Equiline specifies 64% cotton, 29% polyamide and 7% elastane, plus elastic leg cuffs and front slash pockets. According to the manufacturer the zipped pockets at the back are decorative only.

The Crystalef consists of 75% polyamide and 25% elastane, has a high waist and a fabric that Equiline calls Crystal, designed for competition use and described as crease resistant. Equiline also offers the Crystalef in white, so it is suitable for competition. Both models have full seat. We stock the Cedar in the version with X-Grip full seat and stretch insert at the leg cuff.

Equiline gives the sizes on its own website in Italian sizes, marked IT. So make sure you check which sizing system is shown on the label. As guidance the manufacturer gives model measurements. For the Crystalef a 178 cm tall model wears IT 42, for the Cedar a 175 cm tall model also wears IT 42.
