HEY at Ahrens Reitsport
HEY is a brand of technical detergents and proofers from Schweizer-Effax GmbH based in Nordwalde, which also owns Effol. HEY develops cleaning and care products for sports and outdoor textiles, down, wool, footwear and equipment, which are gentle on membranes and proofing and can be used without specialist knowledge.
At Ahrens Reitsport you will find detergents and proofers from HEY for horse rugs, special detergents for technical clothing, leather, down and microfibres, a foam cleaner, a hygiene rinse, a shoe freshener and a suede sponge.
What is the best product for washing my horse rug?
For horse rugs HEY offers the special detergent HEY Rug Wash, which has been developed for synthetic and cotton rugs. It is gentle on colours, removes manure and urine stains and neutralises odours.
According to the manufacturer, breathable rugs with a membrane are also cleaned gently without impairing their function. The detergent is suitable for machine and hand washing. Always check the care label of your rug as well.
How do I reproof a turnout rug?
With HEY Rug Impra you reproof the rug directly in the wash cycle. The liquid rinse-in proofer makes the outer material water and dirt repellent again, and according to the manufacturer the breathability of the rug is maintained.
First wash the rug thoroughly, for example with HEY Rug Wash, then add the proofer in a separate wash cycle. Treatment by hand is also possible. For technical jackets there is a separate variant, HEY Impra Wash-In.
How do I clean my air vest or body protector?
Vests that must not go in the washing machine should be cleaned by hand with a special cleaner. HEY has developed Airbag Active Cleaner for this purpose, which removes dirt, sweat and odours without leaving residues.
For washable textiles with an unpleasant smell there is the hygiene rinse HEY Safety Wash-In, which is effective even at low temperatures and in hand washing. Always follow the manufacturer’s care instructions for safety equipment.
