Scan-Horse at Ahrens Reitsport
Scan-Horse is represented at Ahrens Reitsport with half chaps for children. The Aspen model in black is available in different widths and lengths, including a short and wide option.
Half chaps are a practical alternative to tall riding boots. Together with paddock boots they protect the leg when riding. Especially for children, whose legs grow quickly, this is a flexible solution. You will find the right size most easily by trying them on in our shop in Tangstedt.
What size do I need for Scan-Horse half chaps for children?
The crucial measurements are calf circumference and the length from the ankle to just below the knee, which is why the Aspen half chaps come in different widths and lengths. For wider calves with a shorter leg there is, for example, the short and wide option.
It is best to try on half chaps together with the paddock boots and riding breeches your child wears for riding. In our shop in Tangstedt we are happy to take measurements and compare different sizes.
Are half chaps for children a good alternative to riding boots?
For many children, half chaps with paddock boots are a practical alternative to tall riding boots. When the child grows out of the half chaps, the half chaps and paddock boots can be replaced separately.
Paddock boots can also be worn in the yard and for everyday use. We are happy to advise you which combination suits your child’s riding lessons and show you suitable paddock boots from our range.
What do I do if no standard size fits?
If no standard size fits, Ahrens Reitsport offers made-to-measure half chaps. We take the measurements in the shop and place the order with the manufacturer.
This is particularly worthwhile for very slim or very wide calves or an unusual leg length. Please bring the paddock boots that will later be worn with the half chaps to your appointment. Ordered items have a delivery time of about 2–3 weeks.
