Alsterkraft at Ahrens Reitsport
Alsterkraft is the in-house brand of Johannes Ahrens GmbH & Co. KG, an agricultural trading business with its own muesli and hard feed production in Tangstedt on the northern outskirts of Hamburg. All Alsterkraft horse feeds contain biotin, 1% diatomaceous earth and the vitamin B complex and are free from artificial colourants. Premixes from SALVANA are used for mineralisation.

Where is Alsterkraft feed produced?
Alsterkraft is produced by Johannes Ahrens GmbH & Co. KG in Tangstedt, an agricultural trading business with its own muesli and hard feed production. The company is QS certified and has built its quality assurance system on the basis of QS and ISO 9001.
According to the manufacturer, the calcium-phosphorus ratio of the feeds is adjusted to local soils. The mineral premixes are supplied by SALVANA.
For which horses is Alsterkraft Struktur Performance grain-free intended?
Struktur Performance grain-free was developed for horses with a sensitive metabolism or a metabolic disorder. It has a reduced starch and sugar content and a high crude fibre content.
The ingredients include lucerne, apple pomace, sunflower seeds, carrot pomace and brewer’s yeast. The high proportion of long fibre encourages intensive chewing. It can be fed as the only bucket feed together with sufficient good forage. In case of illness, please agree the ration with your vet.
How do I feed Alsterkraft Wholefood Muesli Senior?
As a supplement to hay and silage, the manufacturer recommends about 0.8 kg Wholefood Muesli Senior per 100 kg body weight, divided into three feeds. In addition, feed around 1 kg hay per 100 kg body weight.
This oat-free muesli contains processed barley and maize that are easy for older horses to chew, as well as linseed, brewer’s yeast and vegetable oils. You collect the 25 kg bags from our pick-up station, as we do not ship orders over 20 kg.
