Höveler at Ahrens Reitsport
Höveler has been producing horse feed for over 120 years. In 1905 Arnold Höveler had his “Reformhafer” registered with the Imperial Patent Office, the first patented horse feed in muesli form. Since 2003 the German Olympic Committee for Equestrian Sports (DOKR) has also relied on Höveler. Today the range includes compound feed, cereal-free lines, mineral feed, supplements and dog food.
At Ahrens Reitsport you will find the Höveler cereal-free feeds Puritan and Pur Sport from the PUR line, each in a 20 kg sack.
How long has Höveler horse feed been around?
Höveler has been around since 1905. In that year the Imperial Patent Office in Berlin registered Arnold Höveler’s invention: Reformhafer, the first patented horse feed in muesli form.
With this, the founder broke with the hay-and-oats-only feeding that was customary at the time. According to the company itself, his principle of formulating feed based on up-to-date knowledge of horses’ nutritional needs still shapes the business today.
What is the PUR line from Höveler?
The PUR line comprises feed from Höveler that is made without cereals and without molasses. This means it contains less starch and sugar than cereal-based feed.
Höveler developed the line especially for horses with a sensitive metabolism or stomach, but it is also suitable for all other horses. Mueslis, pellets, cubes and fibre products based on alfalfa can be combined to create a complete cereal-free ration.
