At Ahrens Reitsport you will find Huf-Vital from ATCOM in several pack sizes and Rehe-Vital for horses prone to laminitis or with a sensitive metabolism.
Where does the ATCOM brand come from?
ATCOM comes from Bavaria. Kathrin-Elisabeth Commandeur founded ATCOM HORSE GmbH in 1993, initially to import an American feed for hoof problems.
From 1998 the company had its own complementary feed for European conditions developed by Xaver Scheule GmbH, LEXA Tierernährung, in Kirchheim in the Unterallgäu. In 2009 Wolfgang Scheule, managing director of the manufacturer, took over the company.
What is ATCOM Huf-Vital intended for?
Huf-Vital is intended to support hoof growth and the quality of the hoof horn through feeding. According to the manufacturer it supplies minerals, vitamins, trace elements and amino acids, including organically bound copper, manganese, zinc and selenium.
It also contains yeasts, B vitamins and herbs. The feeding recommendation is printed on the packaging. In the case of acute hoof problems please consult your vet and farrier, as the feed does not replace treatment.
What is the difference between Rehe-Vital and Huf-Vital?
Rehe-Vital is a mineral feed specifically for horses prone to laminitis or with a sensitive metabolism. According to the manufacturer it is low in sugar and starch and free from molasses, cereals and dextrose.
In addition it contains biotin and further nutrients for the hoof horn. Huf-Vital on the other hand is generally aimed at hoof growth and horn quality. The best way to find out which product is suitable for your horse is to discuss it with your vet.
