Roeckl at Ahrens Reitsport

Roeckl is a family-run company from Munich that Jakob Roeckl founded in 1839 as a glove maker’s workshop. Today Annette Roeckl runs the company as the sixth generation of the family. The sports gloves, including the riding gloves, are produced by the independent Roeckl Sporthandschuhe GmbH & Co. KG, which is also based in Munich. The best-known product is the ROECK-GRIP riding glove.

At Ahrens Reitsport you will find Roeckl riding gloves for adults and children, both lightweight models for all year round and lined winter gloves.

Where does Roeckl come from?

Roeckl comes from Munich, where Jakob Roeckl opened his first shop in Kaufingerstraße in 1839. He had learned the craft as a leather worker and deepened his knowledge of glove making in Vienna.

In 1893 Roeckl was awarded the title Royal Bavarian Court Glove Maker. Since 2003 Annette Roeckl has been running the company as the sixth generation of the family. Roeckl Sporthandschuhe GmbH & Co. KG in Munich is responsible for sports gloves such as riding gloves.

What is the Roeckl ROECK-GRIP made of?

The ROECK-GRIP is made of 100 percent polyamide and contains no leather. The palm is made of the eponymous ROECK-GRIP material, which is intended to provide a refined contact on the reins.

The glove is elastic, breathable and touchscreen compatible and closes with a hook-and-loop strap at the wrist. For the cold time of year there are lined winter gloves, for example the Weldon model with Polartec material and a silicone coating on the palm.

How do I find the right size for Roeckl riding gloves?

Measure the circumference of your hand at the widest point directly below the knuckles, without the thumb. This is how Roeckl describes it in its size advice.

Then compare the value in centimetres with the size chart. The ROECK-GRIP is available in sizes 6 to 11, and there are separate models for children. A riding glove should fit closely without squeezing the fingers. In the shop you can try on different sizes.

Can I wash Roeckl riding gloves?

Yes, the ROECK-GRIP can go in the washing machine at up to 30 degrees. This means it can be cleaned easily after rides in dusty arenas or in the rain.

For models made of other materials or with lining, please follow the care label. Damp gloves dry best lying flat in the air, not on the radiator and not in direct sunlight. This is what Roeckl recommends for its leather gloves.
