Where can I find an equestrian shop north of Hamburg?
Ahrens Reitsport is located at Dorfring 2 in 22889 Tangstedt in the district of Stormarn, north of Hamburg. Our family-run shop has over 500 m² of retail space on two floors and a range of over 50 brands for horse and rider. The difference compared to online-only retailers is the personal advice, from riders for riders.
In our shop you can try on, touch and compare, instead of guessing sizes from charts. If you prefer to order online, you will also find our range in the online shop, for example riding breeches, riding boots, riding helmets, rugs and feed.
What kind of advice does Ahrens Reitsport offer?
In addition to advice in the shop we offer several special advisory services, each with its own page:
- bit fitting with Julia Lühr, in the shop or at your yard, with Sprenger test bits
- Sprenger Test Centre for trying out bits
- made-to-measure boots and half chaps: we take your measurements and order from the manufacturer
- helmet fitting covering fit and standards, with Swarovski embellishments on request
- riding breeches advice with fitting
- feed and care advice
- embroidery of saddle pads, rugs and jackets, as a single item or team order
- product customisation
- after-sales service with repairs, adjustments and spare parts

When is the equestrian shop in Tangstedt open?
Our shop is open Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 13:00 and from 14:00 to 18:00, and on Saturdays from 9:00 to 14:00.

Can I order online and collect in the shop?
Yes, via our pick-up station at the shop: if you order and pay by 17:00 on working days, your goods will be ready from 18:00, and on Saturdays from 14:00 if you pay by 13:00. The goods remain in the box for three days. Orders over 15 kg are not shipped, they are only available for collection.
Within Germany we ship for €4.95, from an order value of €100 shipping is free. Items that are not in stock in the shop have a delivery time of about 2–3 weeks. You can find all details under Shipping and payment.
Is the loyalty card worth it?
With our loyalty card you receive a bonus on equestrian items. Feed and care products are excluded. Ask about it on your next visit to the shop. You can read more about us on the About us page.
