Acavallo at Ahrens Reitsport
Acavallo is an Italian brand of technical equestrian equipment that is best known for its gel products. The brand was created in 2003 and has been part of the Amahorse Group since 2018, based in San Giustino in Umbria. According to the company, the wellbeing of the horse is the central focus, and products are developed in an in-house research department.
At Ahrens Reitsport you will find Acavallo gel half pads with and without sheepskin, gel guards for curb chain, headpiece and noseband, bit guards, bits, short girths and other accessories.
Where does the Acavallo brand come from?
Acavallo comes from Italy. The brand was founded in 2003 and was taken over in 2018 by the Umbrian equestrian company that has been called Amahorse since then. The company headquarters are in San Giustino in the province of Perugia.
There is an in-house research and development department there, which works together with dressage riders. Acavallo develops gel and leather products focused on the comfort and wellbeing of the horse.
Which Acavallo gel half pad do I need?
That depends on whether your saddle fits well already or needs a slight correction. Acavallo offers flat gel half pads and versions with an additional lift at the front, in the middle or at the back (Front, Middle or Back Riser), some with sheepskin.
A half pad can compensate for a small gap, but it is no substitute for proper saddle fitting. If in doubt, have the saddle fit checked by a saddler before you choose a riser pad. In our shop in Tangstedt we will be happy to advise you.
What does Acavallo offer apart from half pads?
Alongside gel half pads, we stock smaller Acavallo gel products for your tack. These include gel guards for curb chain, headpiece and noseband, gel bit guards and narrow gel strips.
There are also bits such as a D-ring mullen mouth and short girths with gel and wool. You can see which sizes are in stock in the online shop. For choosing a bit we offer our own bit fitting service.
