Christ Lammfell at Ahrens Reitsport
Christ Lammfell stands for sheepskin equestrian products from Werner Christ GmbH in Gondershausen in the Hunsrück region. Werner and Anni Christ founded the family business in 1954, and since the 1960s it has processed leather and sheepskin. In the 1980s an in-house tannery in Uruguay was added. The equestrian line is now called WERNER CHRIST HORSE.
At Ahrens Reitsport you will find Christ sheepskin saddle pads and half pads, girths such as the contour girth, covers for headpiece, noseband and cheekpieces, as well as inserts and care products for sheepskin.
Where do the products from Christ Lammfell come from?
The sheepskin products from Christ come from a family business in the Hunsrück region that Werner and Anni Christ founded in 1954. At first they sewed raincoats, then from the 1960s they added leather and sheepskin.
In the 1980s they set up their own tannery in Uruguay. According to the manufacturer, the skins come from the south of Chile, from Argentina and from Australia. The yellowish tone of the fleeces is created by the medical tanning process.
How do I wash a sheepskin saddle pad from Christ?
You can wash Christ sheepskin products in the machine on a wool cycle at a maximum of 30 °C. Do not overload the drum, use a low spin speed and close hook-and-loop fastenings beforehand. Parts with metal belong in a fabric bag.
According to the manufacturer, normal wool or delicate detergents are not suitable. Use a special sheepskin detergent. You may tumble-dry at up to 40 °C or dry in the shade. Afterwards brush up the fleece with a sheepskin brush.
Which girth from Christ suits my horse?
For horses with a pronounced girth groove Christ recommends the contour girth, which is slightly cut back on both sides and therefore leaves room for the elbows. It is also available as a long version and in lengths from 50 to 90 cm.
The girths have real sheepskin with a wool height of around 30 mm and buckles made of stainless steel. Before buying, measure the girth length you need on your saddle. If you have questions about the fit, we are happy to help you in our shop in Tangstedt.
