Kask at Ahrens Reitsport
Kask is an Italian helmet manufacturer founded by Angelo Gotti in 2004. The company is based in the Bergamo area and develops helmets and accessories for cycling, skiing, equestrian sports, rescue services and occupational safety. According to the manufacturer, the riding helmets bear the test marks for EN 1384:2023 and ASTM F1163 with SEI certification.
At Ahrens Reitsport you will find Kask riding helmets such as Star Lady, Nemesi and Kooki, some with Swarovski appliqués. There are also replacement pads for the Dogma, a helmet bag and a cleaning kit. During our helmet fitting in our shop in Tangstedt you can try the models on directly.
Which safety standards do Kask riding helmets comply with?
According to the manufacturer, current Kask riding helmets are tested in accordance with the European standard EN 1384:2023 and the US standard ASTM F1163, with certification by the SEI. This applies for example to Star Lady, Nemesi and Kooki.
Exactly which standard an individual helmet is certified to is printed inside the helmet itself and stated in the manufacturer’s declaration of conformity. If you need a specific standard for competitions, we will be happy to check this together with you during our helmet fitting.
What Kask helmet size do I need?
The Kask size corresponds to your head circumference in centimetres, and the riding helmets are available from 51 to 63. Use a tape measure to measure around your head just above your ears, as the manufacturer describes.
In addition, Kask’s patented Fit System adapts to the back of your head. For some models, the fit can also be adjusted using interchangeable inner padding within the same shell. Trying the helmet on is still the safest option.
How do Star Lady, Nemesi and Kooki differ?
The three models differ mainly in shell, padding and weight. The Star Lady has inner padding made of merino wool and an inner core made of polystyrene in three densities, and according to the manufacturer the Chrome version weighs around 580 g.
The Nemesi is designed for training and competitions, has a double shell and comes in ten colours, weighing around 550 g. The Kooki is the lightest of the three at around 450 g and, according to Kask, is also suitable for beginners.
How do I keep a Kask helmet clean?
Remove the inner padding and wash it, because on Kask helmets it is removable and washable. With the click-in system the padding is attached to the shell with three pins and can be easily released.
For Dogma helmets there are replacement merino wool pads, which also allow you to change the size within the same shell. You can also find a cleaning kit from Kask in our range. In addition, please follow the care instructions in the manual.
