Otto Schumacher saddlery is a family business from Marienheide and has been handcrafting leather goods for horse and rider for more than sixty years. Saddles, bridles and double bridles are made there from vegetable tanned cowhide, and its hallmark is browbands with crystals from Swarovski. The company supplies only the equestrian retail trade and lists Ahrens Reitsport among its authorised retailers.

What does the millimetre specification mean on Otto Schumacher browbands?
The millimetre specification indicates the size of the crystals used on the browband. A Rivoli XS with 8 mm therefore has smaller stones than a model with 10 or 12 mm.
The browbands are available in the standard sizes Pony, Thoroughbred, Warmblood and Warmblood Extra. Also pay attention to the loop width. Depending on the bridle model, a browband with 3 cm or 3.5 cm wide loops will fit.
How do I care for bridles and headcollars from Otto Schumacher?
Wipe the leather with a slightly damp cloth after each use and then care for it with leather balm or leather grease. Remove heavy soiling with hand-warm water and a soft cloth. The leather should not be soaked through.
Dry leather parts in an airy place, never on a radiator or stove, otherwise the leather will become brittle. Important for browbands: the crystals must not come into contact with care products or oil, because they can become dull or come loose.
Are Otto Schumacher bridles also available in special sizes?
Yes, special sizes are in principle possible on request according to the manufacturer, although there are technical limits. Requests are always handled via equestrian retailers, because Otto Schumacher does not sell directly to end customers.
