r3vobanD at Ahrens Reitsport
r3vobanD is a German brand for 3D-printed padding for bridles. The company behind it is r3volutionD AG. The pads for the nose, chin and headpiece areas are made from a flexible TPU mesh structure that is intended to distribute the pressure of the bridle more evenly. According to the manufacturer, they were developed together with vets, are made in Germany and are approved for national and international competitions.
At Ahrens Reitsport you will find the r3vobanD bridle pad in 4.5 cm width in size L.
How does the r3vobanD work?
The r3vobanD is placed under the straps of the bridle and distributes their pressure over a 3D-printed mesh structure across a larger area. According to the manufacturer, this provides pressure relief of up to 60 per cent.
The padding is made from flexible, shock-absorbing TPU and adapts to the shape of the horse’s head. It can be combined with various bridles and bits and is attached with or without clips, depending on the model.
Am I allowed to use the r3vobanD at competitions?
Yes, according to the manufacturer the r3vobanD is approved for national and international competitions. They state that it is used by numerous riders up to international level.
Since regulations can change, you should check the currently valid equipment list of the German competition rules (LPO) or the FEI before a class. If you are unsure, ask the show organiser or your trainer.
How do I clean the r3vobanD?
You can clean the r3vobanD with water or mild soapy water. You should avoid solvents and harsh cleaning agents so that the TPU material is not damaged.
It is best to rinse off sweat and dirt straight after riding and then let the padding dry. In its comparison with sheepskin and rubber padding, the manufacturer explicitly lists easy cleaning as an advantage of the r3vobanD.
