USG at Ahrens Reitsport
USG stands for United Sportproducts Germany, an equestrian company from Birstein in Hesse. Founded in 1998 by Stefan Schwanbeck, who still manages it today, USG specialised in safety at an early stage: it began offering body protectors in 2001. Today the range also includes back protectors, riding helmets and air vests, alongside clothing, half chaps and accessories.
At Ahrens Reitsport you will find USG body protectors and back protectors for children and adults, riding helmets, half chaps, headcollars, lead ropes, bits, fly protection, belts and hats.
Where does the brand USG come from?
USG is from Germany and is based in Birstein in Hesse. The company started on 1 October 1998 under a different name and has been called USG United Sportproducts Germany GmbH since 2002.
The founder and owner is Stefan Schwanbeck. USG has been offering body protectors since 2001 and protective equipment is still a key focus today. The group of companies includes other brands, such as Letek for saddles and SPEED for horse feed.
Which body protector from USG is right for me?
That depends mainly on your discipline and your build. USG offers body protectors certified to Level 3, back protectors and air vests. We stock panel body protectors such as the Flexi for children and adults, as well as back protectors from the Precto range.
A body protector must fit closely and must not slip when you ride. It is therefore best to try it on in our shop, ideally over the clothes you also wear for riding. We will advise you.
Can I have a USG riding helmet fitted?
Yes, as part of our helmet fitting in our shop we will check the fit and the standards with you. A helmet should sit firmly without pinching so that it protects in an emergency.
On request we can customise helmets, for example with Swarovski embellishments. From USG we stock, among others, models from the Comfort range. You can see which sizes are currently in stock in the online shop.
